That’s right! The time has come for WINGS! Now, you have to be a subscriber to receive it, but that’s easy enough to do.
It’s a sweet little short that happens in the Destiny Defined series. It falls between when Catching Dragons ends and Destiny United begins. It tells the tale of Adren, a hero mentioned in song and story within the last three books. It all takes place in the world I’ve called “Savania” and for this story, a small town on the edge of the Barren called Brim. (Map created by Dana Davis.)
But, Adren is not actually the hero in this story…. In fact, Adren is only mentioned by name as it is during his adventure this tale takes place. The hero in this story has to help Adren get to Fjoer Peak, the highest point in all of Savania.
“The prophecy must be fulfilled” says the Great Druid Ravengale, but has he called on the right person? Cerian isn’t so sure. Any other town, any other place, fate could be changed.
“The prophecy must be fulfilled,” he says… To fulfill the prophecy, an unsung hero must rise between the legends of Edgar and River. This is that tale.
I had this idea for the cover, but nothing really stood out to me. I’m also not really interested in making my own covers right now, so I put out a call for designers, then chatted and reviewed portfolios. May Dawney and I had quite the conversation. She managed to get inside my head and visualize exactly what I wanted for the entire series. And it all starts with Wings….
AH!! I love it so much. She really really really did a great job. I mean I have to get this printed at least once for my own personal library, you know? Squee!! Thank you, thank you. May!! I can’t wait to see the rest of the books!
