KFC Copycat Cole Slaw

Who doesn't love KFC Cole Slaw? As a kid, this was the only coleslaw I would eat because I'm not a cabbage fan. As an adult I'm learning to like it since it's an easy solution to a lot of higher carb recipes that add in the flavor but lose the carbs. Do you have a variation of KFC coleslaw you like?


  • 8 cups diced cabbage
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 tablespoons grated onions
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice


  1. In a large bowl add the cabbage, carrot, onion.
  2. In a second bowl whisk the rest of the ingredients together until combined and smooth.
  3. Toss together thoroughly and put in the refrigerator for 4-8 hours (the longer, the better).
